Air-Mountain by Aether Architects Blurs the Interior-Exterior Boundary

Visitors to the current year’s October Phoenix Flower Contest in Shenzhen, China encountered an unique expansive pavilion by Aether Architects which is created by Zelin Huang with a goal to connect phenomenology and architecture. The semitransparent structure, known as “air-mountain,” served two functions as a protective exhibition area and a surface for folks to climb up and over. Inflated hemispheres with a variety of sizes and textures were classified along via a ribbed topography, and enclosed air holes to permit guests and the greenery space to breathe.
